We know Donald Trump had significant problems attracting A-list stars to sing at his inauguration – but surely it wasn’t this tough?
As the 45th President of the United States was sworn in the watching world was treated to performances from Jackie Evancho , Erin Boheme and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
And then Barry from EastEnders sang ‘Something Inside So Strong’.
Passionately. With fists clenched and eyes closed. And Trump looked on, isnpired.
Well, we know it wasn’t really Barry. It was Shaun Williamson, the actor behind the much-loved character.
And we know he didn’t ACTUALLY sing at the inauguration because, well, we watched it.
If Barry’s From EastEnders’ snake-hipped co-soaper Jake Wood is to be believed, it did happen.
Cheeky @mrjakedwood tweeted this quickly-edited video out to his 414,000 followers with the caption: “Beautiful from @ShaunWilliamson singing at Trumps inauguration”
Wood, who plays Max Branning in the BBC One soap, proved himself a wag in his stint on Strictly Come Dancing where he won an army of fans as much for his charm and sense of humour as his dancefloor moves.
We know Max Branning is a schemer – even if he appears a changed man since returning to Albert Square on Christmas Day – but Wood is up to some lovely mischief here.
The footage is nabbed from a video of Williamson belting out the power ballad beauty at the 2014 World Bowls Championship.
Yes, that is only marginally less unlikely, but it did happen.
Today has been a difficult watch, thanks for the laugh Jake!
